Booking Conditions

1. CONTRACT The contract for a short-term holiday rental in Mill Cottage,
Northerdale or Southerdale shall be made between the guest and the owners.
The contract will be entered into when the deposit or total fee is received
and the booking confirmed by the owners and will be subject to all the
following booking conditions.
2. PAYMENT A deposit of one third of the rental fee is payable if the booking
is made more than 8 weeks before the start of the rental. The balance shall be
payable 8 weeks before the start of the rental. Non-payment of the balance on
or before the due date shall be construed as a cancellation. For bookings made
less than 8 weeks before the commencement of the rental the total fee is payable.
All payments shall be made to Mill House Cottages.
3. CANCELLATION Any cancellation made by the guest, for whatever reason, shall
be in writing. On receipt of the notice of cancellation, the owners will seek
to re-let the property in question for the period of the booking. If successful
in re-letting for the whole period, the owners shall refund all the monies paid
less an administrative charge of £20.00
per booking. If only successful in re-letting for part of the period booked,
the owners shall refund an amount equal to the monies paid less (1) the rental
for the period which is not re-let and (2) an administrative charge of £20.00.
If the owners are unable to re-let the property in question at all, then all
monies paid shall be forfeit. It is strongly recommended that guests take out
cancellation insurance.
4. PERIOD OF HIRE Rentals commence at 4.00 pm on the day of arrival and terminate
at 10.00 am on the day of departure.
5. USE OF THE PROPERTY The number of persons occupying the property must not
exceed the maximum number stipulated for each cottage. The property will be for
personal and domestic purposes only. The owners reserve the right to refuse entry
to the entire party if these conditions are not met.
6. COMPLAINTS Should there be any cause for complaint during the occupation of
a property it must be notified promptly to the owners and in the case of serious
problems confirmed in writing.
7. BREAKAGES OR DAMAGE The guest is legally bound to reimburse the owners for
replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs on demand.
8. CARE OF THE PROPERTY The guest shall take all reasonable and proper care of
the property and its furniture, pictures, fittings and effects in or on the property
and leave them in the same state of repair and condition and in the same clean
and tidy condition at the end of the rental period as at the beginning.
9. PETS A very well behaved dog is welcome in Mill Cottage only but must be under
proper supervision and control at all times - no going upstairs or lying on furniture.
No other pets are permitted. A charge is made for accommodating dogs, so please
notify at time of booking.
10. RESTRICTIONS No smoking inside the properties.
11. LIABILITY The owners shall not be under any liability to guests or third
parties for any accident, loss, damage, injury, expense, inconvenience, misrepresentation
or otherwise, which may be in any way connected with the rental. If the property
in question becomes unavailable or unusable for some reason prior to the date
of a booking, then the owners obligation will be to (1) use their best endeavour
to find a suitable alternative property or failing which (2) to reimburse the
guest for any monies paid.
12. RIGHT OF ENTRY The owners shall be allowed the right of entry to the properties
at all reasonable times for purposes of inspection or to carry out any necessary
repairs or maintenance.
